The Caldory System (The Plimmoths
I have notes to add more to this chapter, but this is what I have so far.
While Captain Greekey was eating dinner in the dining hall with some other crew members, his comroc goes off. “This is Greekey,” he spoke. “
“I apologize for disturbing your evening sir. I just thought you may want to know that we have entered into the Caldory System. We should arrive at planet Equamith within the hour,” stated Commander Chardy informingly.
“Thank you Commander, I am on my way,” responded the captain.
Then Captain Greekey got up and headed to the command center.
A few moments later, the captain enters the command center and relieves Commander Chardy, who is currently on duty commanding the ship and seated in the captain's chair, while the captain is off duty. Commander Chardy gets up and stands behind the captain, as the captain sits down.
“Status please, lieutenant JoMill,” asked Captain Greekey.
JoMill responds in an affirmative tone, “We should be able to view Planet Equamith on the chomat now sir. Our eta for arrival is 10 minutues.”
“Ensign Treyu, can you please put the planet on the chomat and zoom in, so we can take a close look at it?” asked, Commander Chardy in a calm tone.
“Aye sir,” responds Treyu. Then, he puts the planet on the chomat
Captain Greekey then asks politely, “Commander Sonhi, what can you tell us about this system and this planet?”
Sonhi responded, in an informative calm tone, “I have just finished my scans with the Sightseer. As you all know Planet Equamith, is part of the Caldory system, which has a dark pink sun. The system contains 15 planets. Planet Equamith is the 5th planet in the system. It is a planet fully capable of supporting life. However, it has some unique color features to it, that I have not encountered before. As you can tell it is purple in color, with swirls of white and green gas throughout the planet, making the view of the planet from space to be quite unique. It is very similar to what we see when we are looking at marble. The properties of the gases affect the population living on the planet. It looks like the gases could enhance cell structure, increase life spans, and mental abilities, and perhaps give those living on the planet some kind of power or enhancements. It would be interesting to study this further.”
“Wow! Are you serious? I think I picked the wrong planet to live on.” responded General Vanrel in awe.
“Yeah, I know where I’m taking my next vacation,” replied ensign Tomshee jokingly.
At that moment, Chef Coomic entered the command center, exclaiming, “Refreshments anyone! I made some purpcanash to celebrate us reaching the planet, and since the planet is purple, these seemed appropriate.” (Purpcanash, looks and tastes like purple brownies.) The Chef had them on a nice little tray and began taking them around and offering them to those in the command center.
“Thank you, Chef Coomic. This was very thoughtful of you. I will say, I am glad you didn’t come to tell us we were out of cream cheese again,” stated Commander Chardy jokingly.
Then, everyone in the command center began to chuckle for a moment.
“Alright, everyone. Let's try to refocus here. We need to figure out how to contact Kalraby. Ensign Treyu, Peegot said that he downloaded information about how to contact Kalraby into our kompenneeter. Have you been able to locate that information?” asked Captain Greekey.
Then as Ensign Trey was reading, what the crew needed to do to contact Kalraby, she began to laugh hysterically as she explained to the crew what they needed to do.
“You cannot be serious!” exclaimed Commander Chardy.
“I’m just reading what it says here Commander,” replied Ensign Treyu while still laughing.
“Well, I don’t care if we have to dress up like penguin clowns going to a costume party. We need Kalraby’s help!” yelled President Shulock.
Captain Greekey, then calls to Commander Chumee, the chief engineer, “Commander please prepare an amphibian pod for launch in ten minutes. We are going on a mission to the planet. Then, please report to the command center.’
A few minutes later, Commander Chumee enters the command center and reports that the amphibian pod is ready for launch.
“Excellent Commander, I am placing you and General Vanrel in command till we return. You are in charge and the general will serve as second. I don’t foresee any problems, but you can contact me on the comroc if you need to,” remarked Captain Greekey.
Then, several crew members enter the command center and relieve all those traveling to the service, which are President Shulock, Captain Greekey, Commander Chardy, Ensign Treyu, Commander Sonhi, Lieutenant JoMill and Ensign Cammel. Lieutenant JoMill then pilots the craft to the surface to the coordinates obtained from Peegot’s download.
The coordinates are in a remote mountainous area. The grass was dark blue, and the trunks of the trees were all yellow, which made some of the mountains look yellow, even though, they were dark blue because of the grass. Once landed and exited the pod, Ensign Treyu looked at the directions of where to find Kalraby and began guiding them to where they were supposed to go.
“According to these directions, we need to head north towards the twin rivers that we observed as we landed. Once we get there, we need to go to where the river begins and both rivers are one,” stated Ensign Treyu.
The group headed a short walk to the river. Once they got there, they looked for the place where the rivers combined at the beginning, which was also just a short walk.
“Okay, now what?” asked Ensign Cammel.
Ensign Treyu responded, “Next, look for the red rock just sticking up above the water in the river.”
“Found it!” shouted Lieutenant JoMill.
“Next, stand on top of it!” yelled Ensign Treyu from a distance.
Then, the Lieutenant got on top of the rock, and within a moment the rock disappeared from under her, and she went straight under the water and was gone. Then, the red rock reappeared with no sign of the lieutenant.
“Okay, we have to do this one at a time.” Instructed Ensign Treyu.
“This isn’t what I signed up for. I hate the water,” stated Ensign Cammell.
“Something tells me, you will be fine Ensign,” assured Commander Chardy.
Next, the captain and everyone else took their turn disappearing underwater. Treyu and Cammell were the last ones. They fell into what looked like a giant underwater aquarium. Everyone was completely dry. It turned out the water near the red rock, was a geneesis (hologram).
Ensign Treyu continued with directions, “Alright, that was interesting. It looks like everyone is good. Next, we are looking for a large cave.”
“There’s a large cave just to the right of us,” remarked Commander Sonhi.
The group then found the cave and right after the last person entered it, there was a large earthquake, and the mouth of the cave behind them sealed up. It was a very strange earthquake, because the only rocks that fell, were those that blocked the cave’s entrance.
“Surely, those directions didn’t include us dying in a sealed cave. Did they?” Asked Captain Greekey.
“No sir, but we are almost there, perhaps there is another way out,” answered Ensign Treyu.
“It looks like we can only go one direction now. By the way, how do we still have light?” asked President Shulock.
As they were walking towards the opening of the cave, Ensign Treyu answered as they exited the cave, “I do not know, perhaps we will find out in a moment. We are here.”
After exiting the cave, they entered a beautiful mountain area, with a small cliff just slightly above them, with a yellow sun shining.
“Now, we just need to summon Kalraby. Here’s the fun part, and I apologize the everyone, but I am just reading the directions. From what I understand everyone present has to do this, or it will be insulting to Kalraby and he won’t appear,” instructed Ensign Treyu.
Then, he continued, “First everyone needs to stand one foot, I guess if you only have one foot, then you are good. While you are standing on that foot, touch your nose alternating your hands. Now, everyone needs to be in unison as much as possible. Alright, now take 5 hops while doing that….wonderful, switch legs and let's do the same on the other side.” After completing that, Ensign Trey continues, “These do not need to be in unison, but everyone needs to do 5 jumping jacks and 4 jumping twists…Okay, now we need to stand on one leg again and swing the other one back and forth. Alright, next switch legs and do the same thing. If there had been someone who had one leg, they would have had to lay on their back and swing the leg from side to side in the air.”
“I feel absolutely stupid. Are we about done?” asked Commander Chardy.
“We are almost done, sir. The last thing we need to do is bend our knees and walk about trying to use our hands to scratch under our same arm pits making whatever noise you wish. The directions prefer the sound of a donkey, but it isn’t required.”
“You can’t be serious! We are supposed to act like a monkey?” asked Lieutenant Jomill.
“No, you can make whatever sounds you wish JoMill.” Replied Ensign Treyu
“Let's just get this over with.” Replied Captain Greekey.
Then they all started trying to scratch under their armpits and making funny noises. Then, within a few minutes, they stopped.
Commander Sonhi, stated observingly, “did anyone notice that the sun here is yellow? I am wondering how that can be when the sun on planet Equamith is dark pink.”
Then a voice about them said, “That’s because you aren’t on planet Equamith anymore. You are on planet Sulan.” As they looked up, a short little rabbit-looking man, who had big floppy ears, and large feet, and a beautiful purple wizard robe appeared before them. Oh my goodness, I have never laughed so hard in all my life. You guys should have seen what you all looked like. When I gave those directions to Peegot, it was meant as a joke. I never thought he would ever pass that along, much less anyone would be stupid enough to follow those directions.” stated Kalraby. Then, he started laughing lightly again.
“I am assuming you are Kalraby?” asked President Shulock.
Kalraby took a little bow and said yes, I am Kalraby.
